Nicholas Sheley, 28, has been indicted for four murders that happened in Rock Falls, Illinois on June 28, 2008.

Sheley faces 15 counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of Kilynna Blake, 20, Dayan Blake, 2, Brock Branson, 29, and Kenneth Ulve, 25. He has already been indicted in the murders in Russell Reed, 93, of Sterling, Ronald Randall, 65, of Galesburg, and an Arkansas couple visiting Festus, Missouri.

According to the Illinois Attorney General’s office, this latest indictment alleges one of the victims was younger than 12 years old and his death resulted from exceptionally brutal or heinous behavior.

Whiteside County state’s attorney Gary Spenccer has 120 days to decide if he’ll seek the death penalty. Sheley already faces the death penalty in Knox County.

Both the Knox County and the Whiteside County state’s attorneys have asked the Attorney General for assistance in the cases.
